How to use theme?

I am struggling to figure out how to assign colors to spaces.

"Browsing" = {
# ...
  theme = {
    opacity = 1.0;
    colors = [
      {
        red = 67;
        green = 35;
        blue = 38;
      }
    ];
  };
};

I don't see an effect after rebuilding. Also tried to set custom and primary to true.
In general I am pretty confused as to what some of the options do:

• theme.type (nullOr string) Type of theme, defaults to "gradient".

What are allowed values here apart from "gradient" and what do they mean?

• type (enum of "undefined" or "explicit-lightness") Type of color
  (default to "undefined").

I dont know what these mean either. 😅

Try closing your browser, rebuild, wait a few seconds(10s should be more than enough) and open the browser.

Rebuilding didn't help but now magically started working with one of the latest updates. Still curious on the meaning of the options though ✌️
