Thanks for the suggestion. I've had a look into Winget and Chocolatey and see they are getting really popular, so will definitely look at getting Pinny Notes onto them. Unfortunately I don't think the current installer is suitable for these, so I'll have a look at what it'll take to update it.

Scoop is also a great package manager.

I actually installed this from winget today, and it appears to be the latest version. Is the repository owner the owner of the winget package too?

No, someone else has added it. Should be safe as it's just a manifest to the releases on this repo: microsoft/winget-pkgs@9230b07
