Problem or Use Case

I have tried to run the AgOpenGPS on Wine and while it works I didn't like how it looks and behaves on Ubuntu with Wine.

Did anyone try to port this?

Proposed Solution

I know its frowned upon and people dont like AI code in production, but, I gave my AI Coding agents some tasks to try to port the .net to a cross platform version 8.x.
For now only the AgOpenGPS is ported, no AgIO, the UI still needs work but it compiles, renders, simulates, still no hardware support (at least not tested it).
I had to remove some features like DirectShow until I come to the point of needing it..

the AI coder ported the first compiled version in under an hour, but no features worked, after 3 hours the app compiled and rendered everything with GL.. the AI basicaly replaced the UI framework with Avalonia UI.

I do not want to get on any nerves here, just wanted to show of the screenshot which i think its cool and wanted to thank you guys for this project a lot.. i Just came back after 10 years of living abroad to my hometown where my father and my brother work on fields and i want to invest some time modernizing our old equipment and workflows with drones (for mapping, plant health, surveying etc) and gps guidance ( i have a surface go 3 tablet with ubuntu).

Would you guys suggest this GNSS module?
