Add custom menu to an SDL window

Hello there. Is it possible for an SDL application to add my own custom menu items and override the default ones? It would be a good addition for one of my ports, to have some options in the top menu bar.

If yes, can you please share some information how this can be done?

I suppose it needs a way to provide a menu strip to SDL, plus an event hook to handle menu messages. So probably 2 new Amiga-specific functions are needed before this can be done "cleanly". SDL has event hooks for X11 and Windows already.

BTW: there is a feature request on SDL3 issue tracker but AFAIK there is no activity for menu API at the moment.
