If something doesn't work as expected, please include:
- Phone model and Android version (e.g., Pixel 8 Pro, Android 15)
- App version (visible in the main screen or in the APK filename)
- What you were doing when the problem occurred
- What happened vs. what you expected to happen
- Steps to reproduce the issue, if possible
Example:
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S23, Android 14
App version: 2.1.2
Problem: GPS doesn't turn off after disconnecting Bluetooth
Steps: Connected to car Bluetooth → GPS turned on → Disconnected → GPS stayed on for 10+ minutes
If you have an idea for a new feature or improvement:
- Describe the feature — what should it do?
- Explain the use case — why would it be useful?
- Suggest how it could work — any ideas on implementation?
Example:
Feature: Schedule-based GPS control
Use case: I want GPS to turn on automatically every weekday at 8 AM (commute time) even without Bluetooth
How: Add a "Scheduled triggers" section with time-based rules
Anything else is welcome:
- Suggestions to improve the documentation
- UI/UX improvements
- Performance observations
- Success stories (always nice to hear!)
I maintain AutoGPS in my free time, so responses may take a few days. I read every message and will do my best to help or consider your suggestion.
The source code is currently private, but if you have specific technical suggestions or want to discuss implementation details, feel free to reach out via email.
When contacting me via email, please don't include sensitive personal information (phone numbers, exact addresses, etc.) unless absolutely necessary for troubleshooting. If you need to share logs or screenshots, make sure to redact any private data first.
