Congrats on the release!

Lots of hard work and a great foundation for what comes next! Avalonia is going to push ahead of all Microsoft UI frameworks in terms of features, stability and performance pretty soon 👍 Can't wait to see what comes next.

@ZzZombo Yes, in general major releases require all 3rd party libs to be compiled against the new Avalonia version. So you either have to wait or compile them on your own.

Major Avalonia releases have breaking changes and are not binary compatible. All third party libraries need to be recompiled against new Avalonia versions.

So yes, you need to wait for all libraries to be updated as @timunie said. It's theoretically possible there would be exceptions but that is not the rule.

This does slow down feedback considerably during RC. It's common 3rd party libraries don't update until Avalonia releases. That means large software cannot easily evaluate until Avalonia releases then third party libs update then the app updates. That means any issues can't be fixed until 12.1, etc.

yeah if you don't want building them, but seems it's easy for lib devs as long you designed in compiled single bind so i think it's easy to migrate to new ver but maybe wait some weeks if you dont want deal with it,

The Avalonia.Skia V12.0.0 package references SkiaSharp V3.119.3-preview.1.1 package - I'm not sure referencing a preview package is good for a full on release. I think this is the cause of my builds increasing in size massively as I end up with libSkiaSharp.pdb and libHarfBuzzSharp.pdb in my output, which are ~100MB combined (and then repeated for win-x86, win-x64, and win-arm64 for a portable build)
