This issue was resolved by new experimental previewer.
It's currently disabled by default, but you can try it in Avalonia options - "Experimental Previewer".

As Max mentioned, this is being addressed in the new previewer. This will be released this week.

Ah, I haven't noticed it's a VSCode issue and not VS.
Yes, VSCode will get new previewer this week.

Version 12.2.0 was released today and includes changes that fix this.
Please reopen this issue with more details if you still encounter the problem.
