Project: Baltic Sea Stewardship Persona: Ludvig Hansen
He was killed on 29 June 1864, after the ceasefire. At Høruphav. On this ground.
Two graves. Both in Høruphav.
The first: in the forest Lambjerg Indtægt, 100 metres from the road, just before you enter the village. A granite stone with a black plate added in 1933 when his name was finally identified. The Tourist passes it on the road in from the Gendarmestien.
The second: on the corner of Havbo and Havnevænget, inside the village, surrounded by cast iron fence. This one is visible from the street. Neither explains that the war was already over.
Stay.
The war was over. He did not know. The hotel was built on this ground eleven years later. The Gendarmestien runs past his grave. The border it follows was drawn fifty-six years after he fell on the wrong side of it.
The grave is there. The Tourist walks past it. Most do not stop.
