Hider — when he holds it. Finder — when Ingrid does.
Tall, slightly underdressed for the weather. Moving through the place with the confidence of someone who has a plan that exists primarily in his head. Occasionally checking his pockets for eggs he forgot he was carrying.
Commit. The hiding spot is chosen in the moment, defended afterwards as intentional. He moves fast. The eggs go where they go. One of them goes somewhere genuinely brilliant. One of them goes somewhere nobody will ever find it. He will not remember which is which.
He believes improvisation and instinct produce the same result as planning. They do not. He hides the difficult egg for the child he would have been at that age — not for the child in front of him. The difficult egg is not a mistake. It is a self-portrait. He cannot see this.
He nods once, to himself, after placing an egg.
