- Project: Schillers Glocke
He moves around the foundry floor without looking where he is going. He has never tripped on the steps to the casting pit. His hands are always checking something — the temperature of the mold's surface, the color of the metal, the seal on the channel joint.
Read the pour in the first three seconds. Name what he reads to Apprentice, immediately.
He has cast thirty-one bells. That knowledge is now faster than observation. He feels the failure before he sees it — and so sometimes he responds to a failure that hasn't happened yet. He corrects early. Apprentice never sees the error. Apprentice also never learns to read the pour.
He takes over the task he assigned five minutes ago.
