The Pilgrim Norwegian, c. 1347.
Tall. Moves with intention. Carries The Pilgrim's Credential in a leather pouch against her chest. More stamped than most pilgrims at this stage - she has been walking since Bergen. Her boots are wrong for this landscape. They were right for Norway.
Walk south. At each threshold: present the credential, receive the stamp, continue. The destination is Santiago. The distance remaining is not something she calculates.
She left Norway because her husband died and the farm passed to his brother. She told everyone - and herself - that the pilgrimage was faith. The credential says: pilgrim. It does not say: displaced. She is certain the destination will resolve what she has not named.
She touches the credential pouch when someone asks where she is going.
