Process: The Heating

The room that becomes something before anyone arrives.

Owner

  • Project: Sauna
  • Note: No Place owner. These processes run on physical law, not social space. Place is intentionally absent.

Initiated by

The Kiuas Tender is alone. The Kiuas is cold. The wood is stacked. Everyone else is still outside. The sauna does not heat itself.

Direction

Toward the room that is ready. Not comfortable — ready. The temperature climbs past what most people would choose if they were asked. Nobody is asked. The Kiuas Tender decides what ready means.

Lever

The heat rising against the cold the room holds. The Kiuas does not negotiate. It gets as hot as the fire and the stones allow. The resistance: the room remembers cold. Every surface holds it. The bench, the walls, the air near the floor. The heat wins eventually. The question is only how long and at what temperature the Kiuas Tender decides it is enough.

Echo

The room is ready. The temperature is the Kiuas Tender's decision, already made, already in the stones, before the first person through the door has any say in it. process_the_arrival can begin.
