+## What this world is
+
+The Ochsenweg (Ox Road; Danish: Hærvejen) runs from Viborg in Denmark to Wedel on the Elbe. It follows the Jyske Højderyg - the Jutland Ridge - the only dry line north to south on the Cimbrian Peninsula. The road was not constructed. It was walked into being.
+

+## The processes
+
+**Travel South** - movement along the ridge from Viborg to Wedel. The road is dry enough to walk. A position has a reason to move south. The season is spring. The resistance is everything between here and there.

+**Cross the Threshold** - runs at every point the road meets authority. The toll gate, the ferry landing, the market entrance. The traveller has what the threshold requires, or does not.

+**Work the Market** - the transaction. The cattle exchange hands or they do not. The Contracte is drawn or it is not. The Handshake seals what the Toll Register records.

+**Mads Eriksen** *(The Farmer, Jutland, 1581)* - owns the cattle. Does not walk south himself. The weight of the decision stays on the farm.
