Chia GUI (Windows) Stuck at "Loading keyring status" since 04/04/2026.

Originally on 2.5.7, GUI Stuck at loading keyring status message. Logs only have lock messages and a vague:

State changed task received Cancel: CancelledError:

Tried updating to 2.7.0, same issue. CLI states "Failed to create the chia daemon". No useful message given. Deleted all file in mainnet/run, same issue. Deleted config yaml and generated new, same issue. Any Ideas?

Hey @cidtrips , as a reminder we can generally provide more timely and thorough support in our discord server (https://discord.gg/chia) .

As for this issue I would first try:

• stop chia
• reboot the computer (this helps ensure no zombie processes are running)
• rename the config file at ~/.chia/mainnet/config/config.yaml (I usually name to config_old.yaml so I can reference it as needed)
• run the command chia init OR start chia (either of these will create a new config.yaml with default settings)
• if you started chia then stop it again and make sure everything stopped
• update the new config file with any custom settings using the old one as a reference (be very careful with spaces and formatting, yaml can be pretty picky). Check for payout addresses, pool information, plot drives, peer info, etc

Let that run to sync and let us know if any questions or issues arise in the process.
