Currently expired offers become noted as invalid but users must manually cancel them for the coins to be unlocked and spendable. Since these offers and coin spends are tied to the expiration time assert there is no security issue with automatically "cancelling" these offchain (removing the lock from the coins in the db) and doing so improves UX
