I wasn't sure where to post this, but I've been running the Adobe Debloat & Remove Adobe CC tweaks in Winutl to try and prevent the AdobeCollabSync.exe from starting and running every time I start up my computer. This is one of those apps that comes with Acrobat and other Adobe programs to connect you to their Creative Cloud feature. However, I (and I'm sure a large majority of people) have no use for that and I feel like it's just running uselessly in the background taking up resources, however miniscule.
I assumed the Adobe Debloat tweak and Remove Adobe CC from Winutil would get rid of AdobeCollabSync.exe, and after using these, the program seemed to stop running, but it would come back when I restarted or updated Acrobat. So, I hunted around for a solution and found a thread on the Adobe Community forum and there was a suggestion to add the following registry key from an Adobe employee:
Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\Workflows
Add a DWORD with a value of 0 called bNeedSynchronizer
Once you restart your PC, the AdobeCollabSync.exe appears to stop starting up again and I haven't seen it around for the last few restarts. Hopefully, some other folks can test and make sure this is working. The original thread from the Adobe Community is here: Permanently disable Adobe Collab Sync? and includes suggestions like deleting the exe file, but the user S.S (listed as an Adobe employee) suggested adding the registry key.
Hopefully this can be confirmed and added to Winutil in the future. Thanks!
