UX: Role filter badge on Leaderboard is confusing #29

Description

@Heyy-Himanshuu

Description

The "Role" filter button on the Leaderboard page displays a badge with "1" by default, which creates confusion about its meaning.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Navigate to the Leaderboard page (/leaderboard/)
  2. Observe the "Role" filter button in the filter bar
Image

Expected Behavior

The filter should clearly indicate:

  • Which roles are currently selected
  • Or show "All" if no filtering is applied
  • The badge should be hidden when no specific filter is active

Actual Behavior

  • The button shows a badge with "1" by default
  • It's unclear what role is selected
  • Users might think only 1 result is shown, or 1 role is being filtered

Suggested Improvements

  1. Hide the badge when "All roles" (default) is selected
  2. Show the badge only when specific roles are filtered
  3. Consider showing the role name instead of a count if only one is selected
  4. Add a tooltip or label clarifying the filter state

Impact

  • User confusion about current filter state
  • Reduced usability for first-time users
