Manipulate with input sound on sound card.

Hi there, I am sound engineer, and I tried to make DAW (Digital audio workstation) on COSMOS (don't ask why, just an hobby and interesting).

I made gui, mouse and etc, but I have trouble with audio manager. saw in documentation and YouTube play the WAV files, but nobody asks about plays input sounds, going into sound card (microphones, real mixing consoles).

I lil don't understand source code of Cosmos, so COSMOS devs, can you help me with my trouble please, I'll be glad for every reply. Sorry for bad English :)

1. switch to qemu, sound does not work on VMware

2. you gotta make a driver for that, best shot you got Is to go study how the common midi interfacce works. Same for the micro phone interface and make drivers for them

AC97 have VirtualBOX too.
MIDI I want to implement later, if COSMOS have audioStream class, and someone implement reading WAV files, so implementing of read input signal, not to be hard.

If you mean from microphone or other input device you gotta make drivers for them

Also if your device Is USB you gotta write a USB driver too

AC97 actually presents an analog sound card, that often inside of mother board of PC.

AC97 does indeed define microphone input as part of its specification, but this is not currently implemented in Cosmos. If you have the time, a PR extending the AC97 driver would be very much welcome! (the implementation would get carried through to the re-write)
