Lossless Scaling for VR games #102

I've been playing BOTW VR and really enjoying it. The only problem is that with my rig I can only play in low res. Is there anyone out there working on lossless scaling for VR? |

I dont think lossless scaling is easily possible in VR (as it is not yet possible in any VR game, not just this BOTW mod). But I am wondering if is possible to implement dynamic foveated rendering. Depending on what headset you own, this can massively boost your performance without any noticable visual loss. It is technically possible to use with SteamVR and OpenXR. This would be amazing if its usable with BetterVR. It is described well in these two videos: I tried using DFR via DFR-UI (with Pimaxmagic4all) with Better VR on my system. Doesnt work unfortunately. Unfortunately we won't be adding Dynamic Foveated Rendering since the game just doesn't support such a thing. Just not really possible unless you start faking viewports. But the Steam Frame will come with foveated streaming which will still help a ton, since it hides almost all streaming artifacts.
