DPG Badge Usage Guide

Digital Public Goods Badge

To show credibility, verified Digital Public Goods can display the DPG badge in key areas like:

  • The hero/navigation section of their website or documentation pages.
  • The footer section of their website or documentation pages.
  • The top section of their source host README.md file or default page.
  • The bottom section of their source host README.md file or default page.

Tip

With platforms like shields.io, you can add different static and dynamic badges to your repository's markdown README file to show different information like project status, code status, contributors status, usage status, and other key metrics you want to highlight. If you haven't used this yet, you should check it out.

Usage Guidelines

Below are examples of how you can use the DPG badge in your solution's README to link users to your DPG profile page. In addition to any other badge you may have at the top of your README, you can add another using the markdown or HTML code. You can also find inspiration from DPGs like OpenMRS, Mautic, OpenFn, Compar:IA, etc.

  • If you copy the sample code above, please ensure to replace dpg-slug in the URL with your DPG's profile page's URL slug (which you can find on the DPG Registry).
  • The colored version (PNG, SVG) is for light themed pages and the white version (PNG, SVG) for darker themes.
  • The DPG badge is released under the CC0 1.0 Universal License and available to be used without any required further attributions.
