R9M Access mod Radiomaster TX16S MK2 with Latest edge tx.

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to get my FrSky R9M ACCESS (2019) module working on my RadioMaster TX16S MKII running EdgeTX, but I've run into a couple of issues and would really appreciate some guidance.

1. Hardware Mod
According to AI, I only need to connect the TX and RX wires for the hardware mod, and the third wire to the internal XJT module isn't required. Is that correct?

I followed the hardware mod diagram that was originally made for the OpenTX mod. I'll attach photos of my wiring as well as the diagram I followed. Could someone please confirm whether I've wired it correctly?

2. Radio Software Setup
On the software side, what exactly needs to be configured in EdgeTX?

So far, my understanding is that I need to:

• Enable Port Power
• Set the External Module to AUX1 in the Hardware menu

Is that all, or are there additional settings required?

I'm also confused about whether I should use AUX1, AUX2, or enable both.

Any help or advice from someone who has successfully run an R9M ACCESS on a TX16S MKII with EdgeTX would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I don't use the R9M ACCESS module often, but I did mod a TX16S to work with it, using that photo guide.

So far, my understanding is that I need to:

Enable Port Power
Set the External Module to AUX1 in the Hardware menu

Don't need to enable the port power - the model settings will do manage the port power itself as needed by the module. You only need to set AUX1 to External Module.

Then, in your model settings, ensure you have "R9M ACCESS" selected, not R9M. I

No, only AUX1 (and it is only an option for AUX1 on the TX16S, as availability of the option depends on the hardware capabilities of the radio in question)
