8.0 compatibility?

Looks like this isn't comparable with 8.0 anymore.

Is there an easy fix for this? I have a pi5 with an nvme so I can't go back

The problem I have seen is that pigpio isn't widely supported anymore, doesn't work on a pi5 and the entire code from what I have seen is written around that.

I think it would have to be completely rewritten to get this to work.

Ok, I guess I didnt notice this was broken last year. As we were setting up this year I did notice it not working and came here and saw a few posts. I am an IT guy with little programming experience so I was not hopefully in making this work with FPP 9.3. As I started looking at logs on the FPP I noticed a bunch of errors about not being able to connect to the pigpiod process. I was wondering if it was not installed so I ssh'd into the fpp and it was installed but not running. I manually started the process by running "sudo pigpiod" and it seemed to be working. I then enabled pigpiod to start as a service on reboot and so far so good. Hopefully this is the same problem you guys are having. If so the fix is easy. Use and SSH client to connect to the FPP (default username is fpp with a password of falcon and then run these two commands.

sudo systemctl enable pigpiod
sudo systemctl start pigpiod

Jeff, can you run a pi4 for the fpp running your radio? Not optimal but seems to be working fine in my testing so far.

Jeff, I picked up a few Pi5s as they were cheaper than Pi4s over the BF/CM deals. I need a few to run some colorlight boards. Once we get the display finalized I'll start plugging around and see with my limited skills what it might take to get this working on a Pi5 as I would love to upgrade my main show FPP to a pi5 for faster uploading of all of the rendered files.
