Dear GBIF ECA Nodes,
As you may recall from our discussions at meetings in Zagreb and Dublin, the Universities of Warsaw, Milan, Prague, Copenhagen, Tartu, and Sorbonne are preparing a joint application for Erasmus Mundus Joint Master application for EU funding. The proposed programme, Quantitative Biodiversity (QuBiD), is currently under development, with the submission deadline approaching in early February.
We are now collecting letters of intent from stakeholders, and we consider all GBIF nodes to be potential and highly relevant partners. If you are willing to express your support for the project or engage in its development, we would greatly welcome a letter of intent.
There are two possible levels of engagement:
Supporter – a statement expressing your support for the project and its objectives, with no further obligations.
Associate Partner – a formal affiliation with the project, including an outline of potential contributions. These may range from consultation on curriculum development, through teaching contributions, to hosting student internships.
If you have other ideas or suggestions regarding possible forms of engagement, I would be very happy to discuss them.
Attached you will find a draft version of the study programme (still a work in progress, though the general structure is largely in place), as well as a draft letter of intent provided as an example by the stakeholders’ communication team. You are, of course, welcome to modify the letter as you see fit.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Thank you in advance, and I look forward to hearing from you.
With best seasonal greetings and all the best for the New Year,
Best wishes,
Julia
