Inconsistent rendered Zenodo badge

Some time ago, the Zenodo badge started to be displayed incorrectly; sometimes it is correctly rendered and sometimes not. This seems to be an issue across repos (e.g., see also the repo for the paper figures).

Similar to scikit-learn/scikit-learn#33840. I guess there is nothing we can do.

Currently, the zenodo badge URL is https://zenodo.org/badge/DOI/10.5281/3781524.svg:

Maybe we can switch to the static badge URL (xref: https://shields.io/badges/static-badge) https://img.shields.io/badge/DOI-10.5281/3781524-blue:

It seems the new badge URL is more stable and faster.

We also have many Zenodo badges on the Changelog page.

The badges are also sometimes broken for the Markdown file on Github: https://github.com/GenericMappingTools/pygmt/blob/main/doc/changes.md, but they all look good on the website (https://www.pygmt.org/dev/changes.html).

So I guess it's more likely a GitHub issue.

Perhaps we should convert all Zenodo badges to static badges as mentioned in the post above.
