I find ImageMagick to be a nifty swiss army knife and very versatile for image manipulation or conversion. However, I'm a bit overwhelmed by how I should set the security policy with policy.xml and in addition, do I really need a security policy if I'm using the PerlMagick (perl bindings) or python's ImageMagick module. Because while there is a snippet of examples on the security policy webpage, I wasn't sure if this was a suitable stock general use template or not.
