Checklist
Describe the bug
I have selected Settings / Player / Enable Advanced Formats and selected AV01 and EAC3. Unsure about EAC3, but, AV01 worked yesterday just fine on YouTube up to ~1pm CET and stopped completely working afterwards.
Playing video on YouTube only allows me to select VP9 or AVC1, no other option any longer. Used to have AV1 HFR too.
Same applies to downloads - no longer able to download AV1, and the downloads which were queued cannot complete.
Version
5.2.5
Frequency
Always (100% of the time)
Device
Samsung S24 Ultra, Android 16
Steps to reproduce the bug
- Enable
AV01 in Settings / Player / Enable Advanced Formats
- Attempt to select AV1 format for any YouTube video during playback - unable to, only VP9 and AVC1 available
- Attempt to select AV1 format for any YouTube video during download - unable to, only VP9 and AVC1 available
Additional context
Completely restarting the app (Force Stop in App Android Settings) and relaunching did not help. Same for full phone restart. Likely, something changed in the API just around that time and broke the format selection.
