C520WS manual alarm start/stop button disappeared

Description

Hi,

Since the upgrading the camera firmware to 1.2.6 Build 260528 Rel. 60422n or to the current version of the integration (done almost the same time) the manual alarm start/stop buttons disappeared. The alarm funkcion is working from the Tapo APP and previously it worked via the integration (I used in Alarmo).

I would like to provide relevant log entry, please let me know which entry is the relevant for this issue

The official integration does not expose this feature.

Reproduction Steps

1. Configure camera in Tapo: Cameras Control
2. Check the device and search for Manual alarm start/stop buttons.

Expected behavior

The buttons are available and triggers alarm

If applicable, add error logs.

If it helps, mine shows both start and stop buttons.

Firmware: 1.2.8 Build 240606 Rel.39146n
Hardware: 1.0
Integration: 7.1.17

I can confirm the same issue with my C520WS camera.

My setup:

• Camera: Tapo C520WS
• Firmware: 1.2.6 Build 260628 rel (slightly different build than OP's 260528)
• Integration: 7.1.17
• Home Assistant: HAOS 2026.6.3

The "Manual Alarm Start" and "Manual Alarm Stop" buttons are completely missing from the entity list. However, the manual alarm works perfectly fine in the official Tapo app, so the hardware supports this feature.

I also noticed that the C510 model still has these buttons available with the same integration version. This seems to be a C520WS-specific issue, possibly related to the 1.2.6 firmware update.

Just adding my experience to help track this issue. Let me know if you need any debug logs or testing from my side!

I have tried with the last 4 version of the integration and the button is still missing. I guess something changed with the new firmware.
I have v2.0 hardware, that could cause the slightly different firmware build number.
Also I found this in the log of the integration:
2026-06-18 09:55:51.053 INFO (MainThread) [custom_components.tapo_control] Camera does not support TapoStartManualAlarmButton: Capability getAlarm (mapped to:getLastAlarmInfo) cached but not supported.

which is not true, I guess. Maybe feature destription was changed with the new firmware?

Hello, the problem seems to be related to the current firmware.

I have three identical cameras; two of them are running the current firmware (1.2.6 Build 260528 Rel.60422n – Hardware Version 2.0).

One camera is still running firmware version 1.2.4 (1.2.4 Build 260326 Rel.24666n – Hardware Version 2.0).

With firmware V1.2.4, the alarm entities are present - firmware V1.2.6, the alarm entities are not available.

Is there a way to downgrade the firmware?

Could you please test with https://github.com/JurajNyiri/HomeAssistant-Tapo-Control/tree/v7.1.19#installation .

Please test:

• Manual Alarm Start (button)
• Manual Alarm Stop (button)
• Automatic Alarm (select)
• Siren (siren)

When installed correctly, you should see version 7.1.19. Please test both new firmware, and old, if possible.
