MediaInfo_InfoTip_Register.bat - DLLRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070715 on Windows 10 x64

I extracted MediaInfo_DLL_26.05_Windows_x64_WithoutInstaller.7z on Windows 10 x64 and tried to run MediaInfo_InfoTip_Register.bat but the result was:

RegSvr32

The module 'MediaInfo_InfoTip.dll' was loaded but the call to the DLLRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070715 ...

The Volume Shadow Copy service is able to run. The Windows Update service is available but may be limited due to the End Of Life of Windows 10 (but I will not upgrade to Windows 11).

I can reproduce the issue, something changed on Win10.

I think it never worked? https://sourceforge.net/p/mediainfo/bugs/1124/ (2020 issue). The DLL is implemented using ATL which creates a DllRegisterServer but it appears to not be configured properly (resource needed by ATL's auto implementation of DllRegisterServer is not in the DLL) thus ERROR_RESOURCE_TYPE_NOT_FOUND 1813 (0x715) The specified resource type cannot be found in the image file.. So the NSIS GUI installer is actually calling RegSvr32 for nothing in the install and uninstall step (I already suspected that it is useless but just left it there when improving the installer previously as I am not entirely sure and won't want to break anything). Calling RegSvr32 alone only registers the COM object (when it is implemented properly which it now is not) and does not enable the infotip too.

Looks like the regsvr32 part of the infotip dll was broken in MediaArea/MediaInfoLib@af9b0f9#diff-05a01fe7ad3cc7c1e0f1d06a505d4f00ac9853ee8124dd04f8e0ed4bdc1058d2 / https://sourceforge.net/p/mediainfo/code/2338/#diff-5 in 2009.
