How do the Neo-Store notifications actually work?

I've poked through the code, I've poked through the settings, and I'm a bit stumped. Feeling somewhat Homer Simpson brain over here and it is kinda frustrating.

What's Happening? (LineageOS v22.2.2 latest version)

• When I do 'sync' in Neo-Store (while on WiFi) it shows a notification with stuff syncing for about 10 seconds.
• Then the notification just instantly disappears after another 5 to 10 seconds.
• Then it may or may not randomly re-appear with more syncing for about 5 seconds.
• Then it disappears again after another 5 to 10 seconds.
• Then nothing. No notification, no information on whether sync completed successfully, no notification of any updates so I have to presume the sync was completed properly.

Questions

• Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing or haven't enabled to have 'persistant' notifications?
• Even something like 'sync completed successfully' would be nice.

I don't know if this is something I can set within Neo-Store or if I need to dig around for a way to have persistant notifications within LineageOS itself. I enabled all the notification settings in the OS so I'm kinda stumped.

The old system was a mess, I admit, the new implementation in 1.2.0 should be better now. Please report on this, when tested
