Beyond is a companion app for the Beyonder terminal. This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is handled.
Beyond does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to the developer or any third party.
Beyond connects exclusively to a Beyonder terminal running on your own computer over your local network (Wi-Fi or LAN). All communication stays between your phone and your Mac. No data is sent to external servers by the app itself.
If you use the optional on-device AI features (chat mode with web search or web fetch), those requests are made directly from your phone to the public internet (DuckDuckGo for search, direct URL fetch). No intermediary server is involved.
The optional local AI model (Gemma) runs entirely on your iPhone. No prompts, responses, or conversation history leave your device. The model file is downloaded once from HuggingFace and stored locally.
Beyond uses the camera solely to scan QR codes for pairing with a Beyonder terminal. No images are captured, stored, or transmitted.
Beyond discovers Beyonder terminals on your local network using Bonjour (mDNS). This requires local network permission. No network topology or device information is collected.
Pairing tokens are stored securely in the iOS Keychain. They are used only to authenticate with your Beyonder terminal and are never shared.
Beyond does not integrate any analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
