KDE Plasma 6 Widget

Been following Pirate Weather for a few years now, great work
Decided to make a weather widget in honor of the Pirate Weather team, you guys running Linux ?
Works on the KDE Plasma 6 Desktop

I'm running KDE on my computer so was able to install and test on my machine. I did a quick test and have a few suggestions:

1. When you add the plasmoid to the panel for the first time it appears as a blank square so the first time I added I thought it didn't get added correctly. Showing a no data icon instead of nothing would be ideal.
2. Even though I'm in Canada and the units is set to Metic the widget was still in Imperial. Having the option to override the system units would be nice.
3. Again like the units it would be nice to have the option to override the default location.
4. Looks like the wind text and one hour is being cut-off in the widget.

5. What is the default update interval? I couldn't find it anywhere and again would be nice to customize it if possible?

I've only used the default KDE weather widget so my feedback is coming from using that.

This is my first attempt at a plasma widget, still working out the kinks
I uploaded an updated version last night
Delete the one you installed and re download the newer version
You can make the widget larger by resizing, should correct the cutoff text
the hourly forecast list is scrollable with mouse wheel
Updated version has config options for
apiKey
updateInterval
latCode
lonCode
cityName
regionName

I can add the measurement units to the config options, it gets the units from your pc in system settings locale, so i assumed that is what most ppl are using for measurement units

Ok i uploaded a newer version it now has the option for measurement units, and made few other refinements, give it a try
also delete the folder of the old one, as i changed the app name to pirateWeather

Been using the updated version and it works well. Small nitpick that Metric units should probably query the API using ca units but other than that it works.

If you want you can create a PR to add your widget to the list of apps using PirateWeather on the homepage (https://pirateweather.net/en/latest/#who-is-using-pirateweather)

ok i added the other meas units, all is right in the world now :)
missed those in the api docs
you can now update the widget in the config screen
but you have to ensure the git clone download is deleted first in the $HOME folder

what does the ozone value correlate to for aqi?
google ai gave me a rough estimate to ozone levels last night
so i used that to simulate an aqi value for the widget
> 299 is Good
> 220 < 299 Moderate
< 220 Poor
are you guys planning to incorporate an aqi value to api?

I updated the script last night but it says I'm running version 2.24. AQI data is planned but isn't available currently.

With the expanded details section + forecast enabled the forecast is being cut off at the bottom.

Maybe having a details section like the built-in plasmoid would work better?

I don't think there will be an official PW iOS app but people are free to add PW as a source to their own iOS app (I think there are some that do that already) or you could make your own iOS app if you wanted.

Sure thats why i shared with you guys, too many weather widgets in the KDE store , and this would just get lost in the mix, enjoy
I first got the weather widget bug when i made one for dark sky a few years back, then apple closed it, i then tried openweather, it was ok but the data seemed stale, after more investigating OWM data is only updated every 30 mins, NOAA is even worse, every 60 mins

i have a few more ideas
like hide the forecast in lieu of displaying other info, visiblity, sunrise, sunset other misc info
i want to add a weather radar, do you guys know of any free radar maps w/o api key
i don't want to have another signup page just for weather radar
Any ideas considered, just don't want the popup widget to be too cluttered.
I also have full blow weather app that looks like Apple iPad weather using the pirate weather data, but it is only setup for my system
not sure how to create a settings page for a qml app
