Hi — I'm Steve, co-founder of Prompto Studio and the developer of keyrotate. I built it because I got tired of manually rotating API keys across 1Password, GitHub, Supabase, Netlify, and Fly.io, and inevitably forgetting one.

This is the place for anything that isn't a bug report or a feature request. The README covers the how; this page, "Discussions", is for the why, the war stories, and the "is this the right way to do this?" conversations.

Use Discussions for

• Q&A — "How do I r rotate X?", "Which destination should I use for Y?", "Why does my verifier return 403?"
• Show and tell — share your keyrotate.toml, your CI integration, or a war story about a key you'd rather forget
• Ideas — provider verifiers you'd like to see (Anthropic, AWS, Cloudflare, etc.), destinations you wish were supported (Bitwarden, Doppler, Infisical), or workflow improvements
• Help wanted — debugging help, "is this the right approach?", config sanity checks

Use Issues for

• Reproducible bugs
• Concrete feature requests with a clear acceptance criterion
• Documentation errors

If you're not sure which one applies, start here in Discussions — we can always convert to an Issue later.

A note on secrets

Discussions are public. Don't paste real API keys, tokens, or verifier responses that contain them. If you need to share output, redact the secret value (npm_xxx…REDACTED) before posting. If you suspect you've leaked a key, rotate it immediately — that's literally what this tool is for.
