problem with dendrometer on 30331

@teixeirak - posting here the most recent responses last week from Tomst re my questions (I have not implemented any of the suggestions yet as I have not been in the lab).

1. Do we always have to do ‘read all’, per your earlier email recommendation? We’ve been downloading data every few months and were hoping to download since the ‘bookmark’ of the last time we downloaded.

Please continue to use the 'Bookmark' function. If you run into issues, 'Read all' can serve as a last resort to download all data. We are working on a software fix to ensure the 'Read from Bookmark' function works as it should.

2. There is one tree (30331) that data can’t be downloaded. I am posting snapshots of what Lolly said below.
   Can you please try to update the TMD Adapter firmware via 'Flash TMD Adapter' in Options of Lolly with the TMD plugged in? From the screenshot, Martin suggested that there might be an issue with the Adapter's firmware rather than the Dendrometer. If this does not help, we'll be able to tell more from a command file.

3. The beech trees (with very hard bark) all read 6800+ for tension, whereas other species have a much lower tension (it’s been a rainy spring/ summer). Should I adjust them down to <1000? Is there a reason their point dendrometer spring tension is so high and other species is not under same environmental conditions?

Can you confirm what the starting preload was for these? It is certainly possible that certain species will register higher growth, but I will also double-check with Dr Roman Plichta, a researcher who helped develop the Dendrometers, if he has any comments.

4. See snapshot of the files that get downloaded. Do all of these need to be saved? i.e. data_, diagnostic_, command_

Can you please send me one or two of the command and diagnostic files? Ideally for the same Dendrometer. For you, only the data file is needed, but the other two file types can help us analyse any issues.

@jenajordan , keep in mind that the trees didn't all start in the same place this spring. It's possible that the beech (1) grew faster or (2) were not recently adjusted. I forget our threshold for adjusting -- 3000? If the sensor is getting close to being compressed all the way, we should reset. However, if it can wait I prefer to reset in the winter.
