This is a reminder to all of us that we want to do our best to diagnose unidentified tree diseases. We can consult an expert from the Virginia Department of Forestry Forest Health Program (Lori Chamberlin) and/or a plant pathologist from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (Devin Bily), both of whom provided letters of collaboration agreeing to help identify diseases.
We are not looking to identify every disease encountered, but if you notice symptoms that are commonly associated with decline (of a particular species), please alert me so that we can inquire with them.
