Functional Specification Document: Salesforce Cinema Management & Autonomous Engagement Platform (FilmClub)

Project Overview

An end-to-end full-stack Salesforce CRM implementation designed to bridge business process automation with advanced AI capabilities. This system serves as a modern, consumer-grade movie membership application that unifies custom programmatic front-ends, secure REST integrations, complex declarative automation, and autonomous customer service management.

Key Features & Architectural Highlights

  • Netflix-Style Modern UI: Built using modular Lightning Web Components (LWC) with custom Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS) styling to render a rich, responsive dark-mode layout for film discovery.
  • Third-Party API Integration: Engineered an asynchronous, named-credential-backed Apex REST integration with the Open Movie Database (OMDb) API using @AuraEnabled(cacheable=true) to dynamically fetch and display cinematic metadata.
  • Autonomous Agentforce Service Agent: Configured an autonomous AI service layer grounded with real-time unified CRM data via Salesforce Data Cloud. The agent resolves tier-1 support queries, handles contextual FAQs, and mutates record states directly in the database.
  • Automated Membership Tiering: Developed scalable, bulkified Apex Triggers to dynamically manage and adjust customer loyalty membership tiers based on real-time event attendance metrics and user engagement logs.
  • Data-Driven Dashboards: Designed analytics layouts providing operational managers with direct visibility into active member growth, RSVP distributions, and case deflection metrics.

Functional Specification Matrix (BRD to Technical Solution)

Requirement ID Business Requirement Technical Implementation Acceptance Criteria & Verification
FR-1.1: UI/UX Render an engaging, card-based media portal without visual lag or layout shifts. Lightning Web Components (LWC), JavaScript Array Mapping, Custom CSS Grid/Flex overrides. Grid layout seamlessly responds across desktop, tablet, and mobile displays. Movie posters render smoothly without distortion.
FR-1.2: Integration Fetch global movie data in real-time on search without polluting core database storage. Apex REST Callouts utilizing Named Credentials, JSON Parsing, and browser-side client caching. API returns 200 OK status. Metadata fields (Title, Year, Director, Poster URL) populate onto the custom LWC inside 1.5 seconds.
FR-1.3: Core Logic Automatically update member tiers based on actual event check-ins to support loyalty workflows. Bulkified Apex Triggers executing on the Member_Engagement__c object with structural handler patterns. Inserting a check-in record that crosses a threshold (e.g., 15 events) immediately changes the parent Tier__c picklist to "Cinephile Elite".
FR-1.4: AI Agent Intercept and resolve low-complexity support requests and record mutations without manual triage. Agentforce Service Agent configured with customized topics, strict guardrails, and Data Cloud Grounding. A user text command like "Change my RSVP to Attending" invokes an Apex-backed Copilot Action that safely mutates the record.

Technology Stack

  • Declarative: Agentforce, Data Cloud, Salesforce Flows, Lightning App Builder
  • Programmatic: Apex (Classes, Triggers, REST Callouts), Lightning Web Components (LWC), JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3
  • Integration: OMDb REST API, Named Credentials, JSON Deserialization

Business Impact & Metrics

  • ~40% Reduction in Manual Support Cases: Achieved high-fidelity case deflection by empowering the Agentforce autonomous agent to resolve common RSVP mutations and FAQs.
  • Accelerated Digital Transformation: Standardized development pipelines with full User Acceptance Testing (UAT) validation scenarios, comprehensive technical flowcharts, and system architecture walk-throughs for seamless executive buy-in.
