I feel like there should be a way to watch streams and rewatch recordings that is not 1080p. While it's nice to have a Full HD resolution, sometimes it could be troublesome with the internet connection. My feature suggestion is that the video quality should be kept at 1080p as default but it should be possible to manually set it at lower resolutions as well. This is very present in other video platforms (e.g. Youtube has 144p 240p 360p 480p 720p as well before getting to Full HD and so on) and it shouldn't be very hard to implement (a compressing algorithm should do). This occured to me in the last few days: my flatmate –who was paying WiFi– recently moved out and I was left alone with my mobile internet connection for a couple of days, before I had the chance to buy a portable wifi. I planned to watch a specific lecture that I always watch at home and I couldn't because I would have finished all my mobile data because the quality was too high. While it is a great thing to have a good recording quality, as it allows to read far away and poorly written text on a whiteboard, it can be an overkill in certain situations. For example, in my case, I already had the slides downloaded, so I didn't need HD quality to follow along, the recording of the voice of the professor probably would have made it or a super low 144p quality resolution, but instead I had the choice between a useless full quality video of him, that I couldn't afford, or nothing, that wasn't helpful either.
Keep the Full HD as default, but give options as well for more flexibility is my suggestion.
