Create GitHub Releases from existing tags

As part of the JOSS review (openjournals/joss-reviews#10144), I noticed the repository has 18 tags (v1.1.4 through v1.2.6) but no formal GitHub Releases with release notes.

Adding releases with brief changelogs would improve discoverability and provide a clear record of the project's evolution. GitHub can auto-generate release notes from commits between tags.

This is a non-blocking suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion! We currently manage versioning and PyPi releases through an automated workflow tied to our primary repository on GitLab. For simplicity, we would like to maintain this single workflow.
