I am considering adding this, but curious to hear feedback. This would be an "integration" with the Hermes app, which you would run separately.
What would you like to see?
Integrate with Hermes to allow for easy clipping of content from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and more. Hermes is a web API for yt-dlp.
This would treat Hermes like a media provider similar to Jellyfin or Plex. However there would not be able to be a "currently playing", so we would need a UI/UX change to support putting in a URL for video.
This would happen to line up very nicely with supporting local/remote video at the same time via Mediabunny, though some shared "Open Video" UI.
What problem would this solve?
Add YouTube and other web video providers as a media provider.
