What is PhyloStyloTastic? Simple, portable style for phylogenetic (and other) trees!
It uses NexSS (formerly TSS), a stylesheet language which is not (quite) CSS, but uses the same syntax and concepts to style tree figures for printed output or interactive display.
We have a NexSS spec that explains the nitty-gritty details, or you can peruse a conceptual overview to see if this is a tool that makes sense for you.
Of course, implementation is the bigger challenge. We currently have rough NexSS interpreters for the ETE Toolkit (in this repo) and Mesquite (stored elsewhere) to play with.
