The Hat of Undeniable Wealth And Respect looks very crusty, someone made fix [WORKSHOP]

The texture was compressed/downsized some time after release, as Valve was kinda strict on sizes.

The "fix" removes the black outline around the paint region and frankly looks worse. I think. It's hard to tell when the preview paint they chose is solid white.

I think the uncompressed textures should be brought back. I don't think there's any reason why Valve should care about the texture size in (current year), especially since the hat is incredibly rare.

I understand why valve does compression but it sometimes hurts more than it helps.

Hate to break it to you, but that IS the original uncompressed texture lol, paint region was white because stock HLMV sucks. Here's what it should look like.

Do you know where to find the original texture? I couldn't find it prior to this issue being made
