Can I have candidates and references with different lengths?

it looks like candidates and references need to have the same length or else "out of index" error may occur or candidates may get truncated to the length of references.
Can you help me understand this part? Thanks!

The code assumes a 1:1 correspondence between generated and reference texts. Are you trying to do a multi-reference eval?
