Adding a relationship works fine, but if you then select a document and click on the added/created tab, there's a problem.

Did you add a 1:M (created a field linked to the document) or M:M relationship?

The Documents module has its own relationship, which is “Attachments.”

If you need to link files directly to a specific record, note that there is also a field called “Attachments” that works directly on that specific record; however, these files cannot be shared with other records.

Nevertheless, the issue you reported is a bug and will be fixed in the future, although it has a low priority.
