GitHub sponsor activation

I have tried activating the GitHub sponsor account for the ZOO-Project Organization.

I see it as a good way for future sponsor to join and maybe some new one.

I would like to know what do others think about this activation?

I have learned lots about this, unfortunately or fortunately, ha. MapServer (me) was one of first to enable this, in the FOSS4G family. I expected good things, ha. Reality: recently GitHub sponsors has fallen very much 'out of favor' in the projects/foundations, because GitHub has recently stated that it will not/ever provide tax receipts for any money transferred. For example, if you receive any income, you must declare that when you report your taxes in your home country (sometimes when it is over a certain amount, but this will vary by country). It is for this reason that https://opencollective.com/ is now the choice for projects and foundations, by the 'cool crowd', to manage sponsors, handle the funds, and also provide legal tax receipts (I believe the GRASS team is analyzing this option now for their sponsor management).

That said, it's easy to enable GitHub sponsors, so why not try, as you did, and we can discuss further options someday later, ha! It's worth a try. thanks!
