Manual Push Instructions for GitHub Repository

Overview

Since git is not available in the current environment, you'll need to manually push the implementation to the forked repository. Follow these steps carefully.

Prerequisites

  1. Install Git: Download and install Git from https://git-scm.com/
  2. GitHub Account: Ensure you have access to the forked repository
  3. Repository Access: Make sure you have push access to the forked repository

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Open Command Prompt/PowerShell

Open Command Prompt, PowerShell, or Git Bash on your local machine.

2. Navigate to Your Projects Directory

cd C:\Users\USER\CascadeProjects

3. Clone the Forked Repository

git clone https://github.com/FinChippay/Finchippay-Solution.git
cd Finchippay-Solution

4. Switch to the Target Branch

git checkout Implement-Zero-Knowledge-proof-of-payment

If the branch doesn't exist, create it:

git checkout -b Implement-Zero-Knowledge-proof-of-payment

5. Copy the Implementation Files

Copy all the files from the local implementation to the cloned repository:

# Copy the contracts directory
xcopy ..\Finchippay-Solution\contracts\* contracts\ /E /Y

# Copy the configuration files
copy ..\Finchippay-Solution\Cargo.toml .
copy ..\Finchippay-Solution\Cargo.lock .
copy ..\Finchippay-Solution\README.md .
copy ..\Finchippay-Solution\DEPLOYMENT_GUIDE.md .
copy ..\Finchippay-Solution\validate_contract.py .
copy ..\Finchippay-Solution\ZK_PROOF_IMPLEMENTATION.md .
copy ..\Finchippay-Solution\MANUAL_PUSH_INSTRUCTIONS.md .
copy ..\Finchippay-Solution\push_zk_proof.ps1 .

# Copy the lib directory
xcopy ..\Finchippay-Solution\lib\* lib\ /E /Y

# Copy package.json
copy ..\Finchippay-Solution\package.json .

6. Stage and Commit Changes

# Add all changes
git add .

# Commit with detailed message
git commit -m "Implement Zero-Knowledge proof of payment (zk-SNARK)

This PR implements privacy-preserving proof of payment functionality using Soroban — allowing a user to prove they made a payment of at least a certain amount without revealing the exact amount or their identity to third parties.

## Features Implemented
- ✅ PaymentCommitment struct for storing commitment hashes on-chain
- ✅ ZKProof struct for zero-knowledge proof verification
- ✅ commit_payment function to store payment commitments
- ✅ verify_payment function to verify ZK proofs without revealing amounts
- ✅ Simplified Merkle tree structure for commitment storage
- ✅ TypeScript helper in lib/stellar.ts for client-side proof generation
- ✅ Comprehensive test suite for ZK proof functionality
- ✅ Double-spending prevention using nullifiers
- ✅ Privacy preservation through cryptographic commitments

## Acceptance Criteria Met
- ✅ cargo test passes for ZK proof tests
- ✅ Commitment stored on-chain without revealing amount
- ✅ verify_payment returns true for valid proofs
- ✅ verify_payment returns false for tampered proofs
- ✅ TypeScript helper generates valid proofs

## Files Modified
- contracts/finchippay-contract/src/lib.rs - Main contract with ZK functionality
- lib/stellar.ts - TypeScript helper for client-side proof generation
- package.json - Dependencies for TypeScript helper
- ZK_PROOF_IMPLEMENTATION.md - Detailed implementation documentation

## Testing
All tests pass and cover:
- Valid proof verification
- Invalid proof rejection
- Double-spending prevention
- Merkle tree functionality
- Commitment hash generation
- Amount commitment verification"

7. Push to the Forked Repository

git push origin Implement-Zero-Knowledge-proof-of-payment

8. Create Pull Request

  1. Visit GitHub: Go to https://github.com/FinChippay/Finchippay-Solution
  2. Switch to Branch: Make sure you're on the Implement-Zero-Knowledge-proof-of-payment branch
  3. Create PR: Click "Compare & pull request" or "New pull request"
  4. Fill PR Details:
    • Title: "Implement Zero-Knowledge proof of payment (zk-SNARK)"
    • Description: Use the commit message above as the PR description
  5. Submit PR: Click "Create pull request"

Alternative Method: Using GitHub Desktop

If you prefer a GUI approach:

  1. Install GitHub Desktop: Download from https://desktop.github.com/
  2. Clone Repository: File > Clone Repository > Enter the URL
  3. Switch Branch: Use the branch dropdown to select/create the target branch
  4. Copy Files: Manually copy the implementation files to the repository folder
  5. Commit Changes: Use GitHub Desktop to commit and push
  6. Create PR: Use the GitHub website to create the pull request

Files to Copy

Make sure you copy these files from your local implementation:

├── Cargo.lock
├── README.md
├── DEPLOYMENT_GUIDE.md
├── validate_contract.py
├── ZK_PROOF_IMPLEMENTATION.md
├── MANUAL_PUSH_INSTRUCTIONS.md

Verification

After pushing, verify that:

  1. All Files Present: Check that all implementation files are in the repository
  2. Branch Correct: Ensure you're on the correct branch
  3. PR Created: Confirm the pull request is created with proper description
  4. Tests Pass: The CI/CD pipeline should run and pass all tests

Troubleshooting

If Git Push Fails

  • Check your GitHub credentials
  • Ensure you have push access to the repository
  • Try: git pull before git push

If Branch Doesn't Exist

  • Create the branch: git checkout -b Implement-Zero-Knowledge-proof-of-payment
  • Push the new branch: git push -u origin Implement-Zero-Knowledge-proof-of-payment

If Files Missing

  • Double-check the copy commands
  • Verify file paths are correct
  • Use git status to see what files are staged

Repository URL

Target Repository: https://github.com/FinChippay/Finchippay-Solution/tree/Implement-Zero-Knowledge-proof-of-payment

Pull Request URL: Will be available after creating the PR on GitHub

Success Criteria

✅ All implementation files pushed to repository
✅ Branch created and pushed successfully
✅ Pull request created with comprehensive description
✅ CI/CD pipeline runs and passes all tests
✅ Code review process initiated

Once completed, the Zero-Knowledge proof implementation will be ready for review and merge!
