In the setting you can allow contacts numbers to pass through (Setting > enable Contacts) and the default priority is "allow: 10",

If you create a "Message Rules" using a preset like "Foreign Number", the default rule priority is "block: 20".

With both of them active, if I have saved an international contacts in my address book and receive a call from it, the call will be blocked.
However, since that number is a saved contact, should it have a default higher priority?

I change the contact rule with "allow: 30", this way I am blocking all foreign numbers, that at the moment are the most doing spam, except the ones I know. It is working fine, but I did not enable all sorts of preset rules to test it.

Most people don't have international contacts and prefer whatsapp or telegram over international calls, so 10 is sufficient in most cases. Yes you can set it to 30, it should work, but I don't want to use it as the default contacts priority, just to avoid too many levels.

I also tend to agree that saved contacts should have a high(er) priority. I set it to 50, just to be sure (I hope) that it prevails over anything else.

Just out of curiosity, why do the predefined number rules have so many different default priorities? "private number" and "foreign number" have 20, "forwarded call" has 11, "local number" and "database prefix" have 0. All of them are set to block calls by default.

If contacts is set to 50, then Meeting Mode should be 60+.
Maybe contacts should default to 15, and 11 for "Foreign Number".

Any value above 10 is for overriding RepeatedCall.

On second thought, using odd numbers like 15 isn't ideal here. Better to leave it as is and simply add a tip in the Foreign Number description:

If you receive international calls from contacts, increase the Contacts priority to above 20 to override this rule.

Not that I use any of these :) but, after a cursory reading, why don't you add a tiny little box on the right side opposite each of these special rules, assign a default to it but allow the user to fill it to override?

I'm not following, they are just regex rules and they all have a priority box.

Like the one saying "20" next to Meeting Mode here. One for each of the special rules like contacts, repeated calls, etc. Let the user decide their relative priorities, but provide good defaults.

Priority text remain hidden when not changed, to save some space for some wide languages. I don't actually want to show the priority for Meeting Mode, but it doesn't have any other options, and there needs to be a button, so...

I see. My mistake. Since I don't use them, I assumed that the priority mentioned in the popup help is hard-coded. I see now most of them are actually configurable.
