Repeat notification option

The feature

When an important message is received and I didn't hear the phone, I'd like the app to repeat a sound every x minutes to get my attention until that notification is actively dismissed or opened.

There are a couple of options:

1. Android natively supports "repeat notifications", there are two problems:
   • Some phones don't have this option
   • Repeat alerts apply to silenced notifications as well.
2. Using FLAG_INSISTENT, but it repeats every second and there's no way to change it.
3. Implement it with WorkManager, those Intents, Broadcasts or ForegroundServices are too complex.
4. Third party apps like "Missed Notifications Reminder", this one also repeats silenced notifications, maybe there're some apps offer an option to disable that.

Where should it be? I want to know if my phone has it. Notification channel settings don't have it.

I looked it up while searching. It supports only global settings, so no different sounds per app/etc and no content filtering. Unfortunately, it is unmaintained so there is no one to suggest the improvements to. hint hint wink wink! 😉

On Samsung:

Settings -> Notifications -> Advanced settings -> Repeat notificaton alerts

But it also repeats for blocked messages, not sure if other phones repeat silenced notifications as well.

Non-FOSS plus paid and ads :) . I searched for the category of these apps (thanks btw). If you have a FOSS app please share.

A dedicated app would be great, but for the purposes of SpamBlocker, can you consider adding this repeat toggle with sound? Thanks
