What is the use of 'homarr/src/tools/theme.ts'?

I looked this up in the documentation. Couldn't find MantineProviderProps or anything related to it.
More specifically, why is this an empty object? And, why is this being used with the spread operator in _app.tsx?

This was used in a previous version to add global styles. I think it's been changed with Mantine v0.5.0
