how to auto-switch internal/external address

I read the doc, know that the app's internal address is required, and I pad a LAN address. It can work successfully. But I can't find any description with the external address.

Here is my demand. When I'm in the LAN, I expect to use the LAN address to access the app. And when I'm use the Internet to access the Homarr，I want to use the external address.

Does the Homarr support to detect my network and auto-switch internal/external address? If yes, how to config it?

homarr doesnt support automatically detecting wether you're at home or not. What's wrong with always using external address ?

I use the DDNS to point the domain to my WAN IP. But limited by the network provider, when I reconnect to the Internet by PPPOE, my WAN IP will always be changed. And there is a delay in dynamic domain name resolution taking effect, and also have a delay in the DNS refreshing. So at that time, I have to use the internal address to access my app.

I'm sorry I kind of lost with all the acronyms you use. Basically when you get home external url doesn't work for some time so you need to use the internal one ?

I'm so sorry for confusing you. DDNS means Dynamic domain name server. PPPoE means Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet.

Simply put, yes. Although I can modify my hosts file to point my domain name to the internal address, I dont think it's a perfect solution.🤣

If supporting this feature is a complicated work, I'm sorry for disturbing you and I will try to modify the hosts file to solve this problem.

I don't think it's too difficult, just wanted to know why you'd need it. But I think it certainly is an edge case and might not be implemented before other features are

maybe I can create two configuration files. the one is padded with internal address, and the other is padded with external address。
