swift package clean / reset / update does not help to solve this problem.

Hi @skyien,

this appears to be a bug in SwiftPM, a fix landed in main in swiftlang/swift-package-manager#9269, but does not appear to be in Swift 6.2 toolchains yet.

As a workaround, can you try adding the Yams dependency directly to your package in addition to Swift Configuration? Something like:

        .package(
            url: "https://github.com/apple/swift-configuration",
            exact: "1.0.0-alpha.1",
            traits: [.defaults, "YAMLSupport"]
        ),
        // Only added explicitly as a workaround for https://github.com/apple/swift-configuration/issues/89
        .package(url: "https://github.com/jpsim/Yams", "5.4.0"..<"7.0.0"),
