Sending window to new space doesn't work

• MacOS 26.4.1
• Yabai version 7.1.18 (installed from homebrew)
• SIP Enabled
• Sending windows to spaces doesn't work. For instance, commands like yabai -m window --space 2 will keep the window in the current space.

Is there any workaround or fix without disabling SIP?

There is no workaround in yabai without disabling SIP.

Other people use a solution that emulates a mouse-click on a given window titlebar and synthesizes a space switch action. This will move the window to the destination space, but has the limitation that the window must have a titlebar, and must be visible on the screen such that the mouse-click actually hits the window.

There are some hammerspoon scripts for this in the issue/discussion of this repo somewhere, or you can use something like BetterTouchTool (I believe this is paid software though) to do this (and much more).
